Description

Antique pharmacy jars.

Two covered jars in white faience, one with green decoration, the other with brown, each decorated with a Baroque cartouche inscribed “Locoid” and with pointed lids.

Locoid is the name of a dermatological medicine marketed in France from 1978. These jars belong to the tradition of promotional jars given to pharmacies, which borrow the form and decoration of antique apothecary jars.

A charming decorative pair, evocative of the world of the apothecary’s shop.
