Description

A set of antique spice jars.

A complete set of six sunshine-yellow faience kitchen jars with red and orange floral decoration: Farine, Sucre, Café, Thé, Poivre and Épices (flour, sugar, coffee, tea, pepper and spices), each with its lid.

In the early 20th century, French faience factories — in Lorraine, the Nord or Burgundy — produced these sets of jars, graduated from largest to smallest, which adorned kitchen shelves.

A cheerful and functional set, rarely found complete.
